DIGITAL COLLECTION OF TURKIC MANUSCRIPTS
On our pages you will find the brand new items of information about marginal Turkic languages, which, as it is paradoxical, have been mislaid at the centre of Eurasia, samples of unique and not accessible written memorials, exclusive materials on little-known languages and peoples, and something brand new about things that were well know for a long time.

TWO SITES:    1    www.qypchaq.freenet.kz (first short version)   2    www.qypchaq.unesco.kz (new ultimate version)

The Languages section (in Russian) contains information on Qypchaq and other Turkic languages.

In the Memorials section are presented electronic versions of written and oral monuments, epigraphic monuments,  straightly or indirectly related to Turkic peoples.

In the Researches section are placed the scientific works about Turkic languages, Turkic peoples and their written and oral literature.

In the Sources section are placed our collections of  historical data on people of Eurasia, including detailed quotations from nearby 500 compositions of 150 ancient Greek, Latin and Byzantian authors.

In Bibliography section there is a list of publications about Turkic languages and written monuments.

The Fonts section contains a collection of charge-free fonts needed to read, print and process our texts adequately.

The Keyboards section contains a collection of charge-free keyboard layouts for Windows XP and Windows 98 needed to type and process our texts adequately.

There is also a section concerning information about the author of the site -  Alexander Garkavets, doctor of philology, the Chief Research Officer of the History and Ethnology Institute of the Education and Science Ministry - National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan and Kazakhstan State Juridical Academy.

Our site does not claim the plenitude of actual facts, though we shall aspire to this too, in order, in particular, to present You our unique photocopies collection of Qypchaq manuscripts, created in different time in different alphabets and dispersed all over the world.

With the help of our site we attempt to raise and to solve the problem tasks of digitizing (coding) and sending electronic versions of Turkic written monuments, adequate reproduction of the received information on the screen and on the printer of our grateful visitors.

Moreover, we raise a task to provide a gradual transition from graphic reproducing of memorials to their encoding and decoding by the way of unified electronic fonts, with which one can process our texts in a standard text editor.

The web-site was open on the 18 September 2001.
